The popularity of Pilates can be seen in the many options now available from group mat classes at gyms, equipment sessions at Pilates Studios and Clinical Pilates at osteopathy and physiotherapy clinics like ours.
So what do we do that makes us different? We’re proud of a number of things we do differently here at MOH.
Evidence Based approach to your Pilates – Joseph Pilates, the creator of Pilates, was an innovative, inspiring man but his understanding of anatomy and physiology dates back to the turn of the 20th century, and since then we have learnt a lot about how the body works and why Pilates is so effective and who it is most effective for. And long story short – we don’t think it’s for everyone and we won’t recommend it to you if we don’t think it’s the best option for you.
Client focused training and education (seriously) – many people want to be known as “client focused” but find it hard to deliver. The whole Pilates experience at Melbourne Osteohealth is tailored to your body and what you need to do with it; and directed at you understanding your body to get the most out of your time with us.
Your first appointment focuses on the basic movement proficiencies and exercises critical for what you do with your body; one-on-one; for you to really appreciate how you need to move to change your posture and your pain.
Any following sessions will be no more than three-on-one so that you can really “getting the hang of it”; which we normally expect somewhere between your 12th and 24th session.
You will always get focused and sustained attention from our well trained staff.
Well trained, professional staff – your pilates sessions are supervised by either osteopaths or instructors with significant experience in Pilates who are undertaking further clinical education. This means all of the diagnostic skills, functional, biomechanical and osteopathic treatment knowledge of our professional team are applied to your pilates sessions; adding even more value to your sessions.
