North Melbourne, meet your local Osteopath – Dr Melinda Vicino
Melinda completed a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences back in 2004 at Victoria University. She was pursuing what she thought was her dream to be a medical lab scientist when chance meetings with osteopathic students on campus sparked her interest. She became more and more intrigued and inspired by the osteopathic approach to health care and in 2005 she went on to undertake further studies and follow her passion for osteopathy. Mel obtained her Bachelor of Clinical Science in 2007 and a Master of Health Science, majoring in Osteopathy in 2009.
Mel has been working in North Melbourne since graduating, she has worked in Kensington, Flemington, Fitzroy and Carlton and has settled in here at MOH. Prior to coming to MOH Mel felt she was stuck in a rut clinically, doing the same thing day in day out and struggling to get the results she wanted for patients. She felt stale, like she needed to grow and learn. Since coming to MOH Mel’s osteopathic practice has expanded to encompass clinical pilates and exercise rehabilitation. She has also undertaken further training in workplace ergonomics and all in all has brought back the passion she had for osteopathy and healthcare.
